NB2012

Two weeks ago
has it really been two weeks already?
We went to Newport Beach with the Sorensen's.
A trip we planned the first week of October.
We were so ready, and it was well worth the wait.
We drove, which, I wasn't ready for, but it turned out not being bad!
We drove to Vegas and stayed overnight, then went into Caesar's for a little shopping before we hit the road again.
Where I got my first little blue box ever, and in was a super cute sterling silver ring!
I have the best hubby ever.
After leaving Vegas, we stopped in Barstow.
Except we stopped in the ghetto part of Barstow.
I wish we had gotten pictures because I seriously feared for my life.
It felt like NY, in a subway station. A subway station in a part of town you don't want to be.
Once we reached Newport we spent a lot of time at the beach.
I would never turn down a life where I got to spend my days at the beach.
We also went to the happiest place on Earth!
Where we got the BEST caricature drawn of us, ever.
And got soaked on Splash Mountain.
And where Daniel and I rode the Screamin' California without our spouses because they don't like coasters.
Can you spot us?
The last night we were there, we decided to venture and get pictures of the sunset.
Don't mind husband's scary eyes.
Thank you Sorensen's for being my models.
We also went to Joe's Crab Shack for the first time!
Best crab I've ever had.
Oh, and Mandy found sketchy shorts under their bed in the beach house.
Eek.
Such a great vacation.
So needed.
When can we go back?

broozer is home

Okay, he's been home for over a month.
I am a major slacker.
But we love having him back
Broozer returned from the Texas Houston East mission on April 11.
It felt like Christmas!

We missed Rach and Ben!
Welcome home baby brother!

happy easter!

Okay, I'm a day late, but oh well!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter because we enjoyed ours!
Saturday night we dyed Easter eggs with our other half.
This is what I did with our eggs! Mandy pulled out her cricut and we put vinyl on them before we dyed them.
If you would like to read more, or see more pictures, you can go here.

Yesterday, we went to church, of course!
Then we headed over the Grow's, and sampled food there.
Uncle Steve was once again in town, and he had cooked, so he said I had to eat there.
But we only sampled because afterward we went to the Lawrence's where we had a full lamb dinner, and we even had an Easter egg hunt! Don't worry, there were only four of us and we are 19, 22, and 25.
No big deal.
It was a great holiday.

I watched this Mormon Message yesterday morning. It reminded me what Easter is all about. So I thought I'd share it with you.

sweet thing

I've had the privilege to spend the last two Saturdays with this sweet little girl.
I just love her.
And she loves her Auntie Em.

jazz game take 2

Let me start out by saying that knowing someone like Laird is pretty much the best thing ever.
He knows literally EVERYONE, and always has good things coming our way.
He's such a good friend.
This particular evening Laird called me with Jazz tickets.
On the 16th row.
Wowza.
I sat next to Al Jefferson's fiancé, and son.
Next to them was Gordon Hayward's family.
Behind us was Derick Favor's brother.
It was insane.
This game was sold out, of course, because the Jimmer was here playing.
Unfortunately, we lost at literally, the last second.
Tip in shot was too late.
Whomp whomp.
Thanks to  Laird for getting us the bests seats we've had (and probably ever will have) at a game!

a quarter of a century

My handsome husband turned 25 a couple of weeks ago.
He's turning into an old man.
I kind of spoiled him, but that's okay.
His $13 Vespa wallet was his favorite thing.
He also got a marble Christus...he said he wanted a picture of Jesus, there you go!
AND! He got a GoPro camera. If you don't know what those are, you should look them up. They are pretty cool, and John has wanted one forever.
We (Daniel and I) want to find a way to strap it to his chest while he's riding roller coasters with us in California, so we can laugh at his faces.
If you didn't know, John does NOT like roller coasters.
We went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory in City Creek with the Sorensen's of course, who else?
We went the first Saturday it was open, which was a little crazy, but we shopped while we waited so it was just fine!
John melted my heart while driving home.
He turned to me and said, "Thank you. This was the best birthday I've ever had."
That made everything worth it.

three years ago...

I made the best decision of my life.
