Slacker

Here is my blog promise. I WILL update the blog. Soon. I have pictures from JW's birthday, on top of all the Christmas pictures. The task seems impossible, which is why I am avoiding it. But I promise, I wil do it.

So, I had to create a blog for class. It's not even done yet (it's due Wednesday, procrastination at its best). But, I think I'll stick to it even after Wednesday.
Check it out if you want.
It's about food.
And pictures.
My two favorite things.

thanksgiving

Don't let the pictures fool you, we actually spent Thanksgiving with the Lawrence's.
But, we did stop by the Grow's afterward, and I did whip out my camera.
Rosie and Kati
Stef and her boyfriend Sean
Adam eating as much frosting on a graham cracker as possible.
Sissy lou.
He can't be serious, it's fine.
Myself and sissy.
I honestly hate Thanksgiving. I feel like I have to eat until I die. But I was very good this year! I didn't go back for seconds, which is unusual, especially when it comes to stuffing. I do like that it's meant for us to vocalize what we're grateful for. Which, for me, is a lot. Number one, John. He really is the best husband I could have asked for. Keeps me grounded.

Tracy Family

A couple weeks ago John and I ventured up to Bear Lake to take some family photos for a friend of Jim and Jess'.
It was quite a long day, driving there and back, but I'm pretty satisfied with how the photos turned out.
Hopefully they like them too!

Ten kids under the age of ten.
It was work.
My favorite.

The whole fam-dam!
It was nice to get the practice, and I would say that for my second time ever, they turned out pretty good!

North Cackalack

John, Patty, and I went to North Carolina the first weekend in November to visit Jim, Jess, Alice, and new baby brother Jacob.
We flew through Atlanta, and then into South Carolina.
In one weekend, I visited three new states.
That's like double the amount of states I have been to! (But, not really).
While we were there, we went shopping at the largest mall I have ever been to in my life.
No joke.
This mall had a Coach Factory Store so of course I had to buy a new purse.
My husband loves me a lot.
I spent as much time as I could holding this little guy.
We also went to the Renaissance Festival.
It was quite the adventure, it's like an all-out party.
They had a show there where they were displaying different kinds of birds, and I got some pretty cool pictures!

Check out this guy's eyes. Amaaazing.
This one didn't want to come down from the roof...

I honestly don't know what kind of bird this is, but I like this picture.
So, yeah.
Alice and I rode a ride, and we bought her some fairy wings and a wand.
Favorite auntie..right here.
All I have ever heard about this Festival is about the Turkey legs, so of course I had to try one. That thing was freaking massive.
John tried on some Pirate coats.
And proved his strength.
And we saw the infamous fairy.
Twig, I believe is her name.
The whole reason we went out there, really, was to go to Jacob's blessing.
This is everyone that was there.  Jess' family, us, and some family friends from the ward.
Jess, Jim, Alice and Jacob.
And of course, I had to get some pictures of the little guy by himself.

And the clown fish.
Of course.
It was a fun trip! Hard to come home, but what can ya do!
Thank you to Jim and Jess for inviting us, and letting us stay with them for the weekend!

MIA

I suck at blogging. I know.
I have so much to blog about...
Our trip to North Carolina
A family photo session I did.
Thanksgiving
Painting our living room (AGAIN)
And, I just made the cutest craft for our front door. I seriously love it. And it was five-ninety-free.
I'll try and at least post about one of the above tomorrow.
I'll try.

birthday weekend

So, I turned 22 on Friday.
22 feels so old.
21 is still young and care-free, but 22 is like okay, get over it, time to be a grown-up.
I don't want to be a grown up.

John spoiled me as always.
This was my gift.
This is what I looked like when I opened it.
Yes.
He put rocks in my gift.
And an iPod underneath those rocks. It had it wrapped in styrofoam to protect it from the rocks; they were merely a ploy.
Friday night we went to Tucano's with Daniel, Mandy, and Laird.
Laird was late so he missed out on pictures.

After dinner we went and carved pumpkins.
Something I've been wanting to do for weeks!

Sunday night we had dinner at my parents' house.
This is me conducting the birthday song.
Another great birthday.
Even though I feel super old.

happy birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THIS GIRL!
Mandy and I have been friends for quite some time.
Like, since elementary school.
We've been through a lot, but we've come out on top!

It definitely doesn't hurt that we ended up marrying best friends. It makes it easy to remain friends. :)
Love you girl!

And of course,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to the one and only.
The Laird Swensen.
Lairdy has been around for a couple of years now, and is definitely part of the family.
We love him.

Happy birthday to both of you! We can't wait to celebrate this weekend!

welcome home soldier

For class, I needed to shoot a photo story, and one of them needed to be a social issue.
Seeing as I knew there were some soldiers coming home, I figured war would be an easy one.
Even though I didn't know anyone there, I got some good pictures.
These are just a few.
How cute is this little boy? I instantly fell in love with him.
Precious moment.
Won't lie.
I cried.
It was the most amazing thing to witness.
And I officially decided John is never allowed to join the military.
Sorry Uncle Sam.
